What I thought of my day
My day at ITV Anglia was very rewarding. Even though I was only there for a day, I gained so much from the experience. I was welcomed by everyone who worked there very quickly, and was made to feel part of the team.
Throughout the day, I managed to spend time and shadow all areas. These ranged from helping out in the gallery to having a go at presenting the weather with Chris Page. I was given hands-on tasks throughout the day which enabled me to gain even more experience in the television industry.
What I particularly liked about the day was that the teams let me pick which areas I wanted to work in whilst there. This gave me so many opportunities throughout. One particular task which I really enjoyed was shadowing the lunchtime producers, Monifa and Sophie. Sophie is the news trainee at Anglia, so I spoke to her a lot because they could tell I really had a passion for news and working in the television industry. They allowed me to get really involved and I ended up cutting some clips for the packages in the bulletin, as well as writing up some of the script. This was extremely rewarding because I was able to take what I've learnt on previous work experience opportunities and put them into further practice at Anglia.
Another part which I was very excited about was when I spent some time with the weatherman, Chris. I had never had the opportunity to see how the weather was produced at other ITV newsrooms, so I jumped at the chance here. Chris was so lovely and I even ended up having a go at presenting the weather myself (it's definitely much harder than it looks!)

She was an absolute joy to be around. She's clever, articulate, passionate, well-informed about current affairs and also warm and friendly. She needed no baby sitting and was more than confident (but not in a cocky way) at approaching people to shadow.
If she were my daughter I'd be mighty proud. I am confident she would be an asset to any organisation as she has a lot to give and would put her heart and soul into whatever she was doing.
